It is expected that the much hyped next generation Xbox may play only Blue-ray, but not DVDs. Kotaku, a games blog, said that there are speculations regarding restriction laid by next generation Xbox. It comes with a mechanism which does not allow used games to play. This will be happy news for the publishers, but not for players.

Players will have high regards for sets like Gamestation or Game as they can play all titles including second hand. Over and above, these second hand titles can be bought at a very cheaper price compared to new titles.

It is not clear how can they put a blockage, which can recognize old games and block them. Kotaku said that this can be achieved by bounding all games within a single account. However, player can enjoy offline playing.
